Strength training
Get Strong with CAIA
A strength training class for women who want to feel stronger without feeling like they have to know the room before they walk into it. Rachel brings her experience to a small, curve-focused class where you can learn the movements, work at your own pace and make the workout your own. Come with experience or come curious. Either way, you'll have a room designed to meet you where you are.
What is strength training
Get stronger. Feel at home in your body.
Strength training is resistance work designed to build strength, stability and confidence in the way you move.
You don't need to know your way around a weight room. You don't need to have a perfect form. You don't need to already call yourself “a strength training person.”
This class is a place to learn, move, try things, get stronger and figure out what feels good for you. We've intentionally built the room for different experience levels, different bodies and different starting points. Rachel will guide you through the workout, offer modifications when you need them and help you find the version of each movement that works for you.
Come if you've never taken a strength class. Come if you've taken plenty. Come somewhere in between.
The details

A full-body strength class with room to make it your own.

Rachel shares modifications for each movement throughout class to ensure your experience is perfect for you.
We've trialed the format with different experience levels to make sure the class feels approachable if you're new to strength training while still giving regulars something to work toward.

More strength
Build the kind of strength that supports the things you already do, from carrying groceries to taking the stairs to feeling steady in your own movement.
More confidence
There is something satisfying about realizing you can do something today that felt impossible a few months ago.
More body awareness
Strength training gives you a chance to learn how your body moves, where you feel strong and where you might want a little more support.
More ways to move
There is no single right way to train. Learning different movements gives you more options for finding movement you actually enjoy.

Who we are moving with
Rachel Steinberg
Your trainer. Your guide. Your new favorite person to yell “one more” at.
Rachel Steinberg is a Los Angeles-based personal trainer who has been coaching clients privately since 2018. Her approach is centered on meeting people where they are, building workouts around their individual bodies and helping clients feel stronger and more confident in the process.
Rachel brings years of experience working with clients across different goals, bodies and experience levels. She knows how to make a workout challenging without making the room feel intimidating.
For CAIA, she's bringing that same approach to a small group setting.
Come ready to work. Rachel will take care of the rest.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need strength training experience?
No. We've designed this class to work for people who are brand new to strength training, people who are getting back into it and people who already train regularly.
What if I've never taken a strength class?
That's completely fine. You won't be expected to know the movements ahead of time. Rachel will guide you through the workout and offer modifications as needed.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable workout attire that you can move in, and flat training shoes. Bring water and a towel for sweat. We recommend training shoes rather than running shoes as flatter soles are easier to balance in for strength training class.
Is equipment provided?
Yes. All equipment needed for the class will be provided.
Can I participate if I have mobility limitations?
Yes. Rachel will offer modifications based on different mobility needs and individual circumstances. If you have a preexisting condition or specific concern, let Rachel know before class so she can help you find appropriate modifications.
Parking?! What is the parking like?
The gym has a parking lot. If it is full, there is plenty of parking available on meters and free parking on side streets throughout the neighborhood.
What if I'm pregnant?
Rachel can work with pregnancy-related modifications. Please communicate with her before class so she can help determine appropriate modifications for your needs.
What happens after class?
We're popping over to a nearby coffee shop for a complimentary bevvy of your choice. Stay for the CAIA end ritual, meet the group and hang out for a bit.
Can I get a refund?
Tickets are non-refundable. If you can't make it, you can transfer your ticket through the CAIA group chat at the original ticket price.
Is there an age limit?
No limit! You just have to be 18 to participate
